After working for many years with leading Benelux firm Loeff Claeys Verbeke (which later merged into Allen & Overy), founding partners Jacques Verhaegen and Philip Walravens decided, in 1996, to create their own law firm “VERHAEGEN WALRAVENS”.
Soon the firm was fortunate to bring together an exceptionally strong team of partners and counsels, many of whom were practicing with top Belgian and international law firms.
In 2004, the firm of J. Michel Verhaegen joined Verhaegen Walravens in order to contribute to the development of synergies, while both law firms remain two separate entities.
In 2007, Henry Hachez, Jean Pierre Renard and his team as well as Emmanuel Szafran joined the firm to strenghten and develop the firm’s activities respectively in employment and immigration law, corporate and commercial law, and TMT/IP law.
